- In-tai.py TUI framework (panels, compositor, z-layers, mouse, focus,

- Retargeted 4 test patches to the real tai.* seams (assertions unchanged)
- Deleted tai_pkg/; tai.py is standalone stdlib-only (bare copy imports)
- AGENTS.md/README.md updated to the standalone architecture

Summary

A TUI task note documenting crossterm-style BeginSynchronizedUpdate/EndSynchronizedUpdate (CSI ? 2026 h/l) and stating explicitly that terminals without mode 2026 support silently ignore the sequences as harmless no-ops.

Key findings

  • BeginSynchronizedUpdate writes CSI ? 2026 h; EndSynchronizedUpdate writes CSI ? 2026 l.
  • The terminal buffers all output between the markers and presents it as a single atomic update.
  • Terminals that do not recognize mode 2026 silently ignore both sequences (harmless no-ops), so no capability probing is required.

Pros / strengths

  • States the graceful-degradation property explicitly, which is the load-bearing fact for tai emitting the sequence unconditionally.

Cons / limitations / caveats

  • Basis is a search-result excerpt, not a full page read; no support matrix.

Relevance to tai

  • Justifies unconditional ?2026h/?2026l framing around every composed frame in tai's renderer: atomic present where supported, ignored elsewhere.
